che wah che wah

There seems to be a fair bit of jubilation over ManYoo getting knocked out of the Champion's League. My instincts tell me that it's mostly scousers who are celebrating. *tsk tsk tsk*

I tell you what though; as a Chelsea fan I would have preferred to have ManYoo go past the group stage, simply to increase our chances of avoiding an Italian or Spanish club in the round of 16. Fear is not the reason, but rather, it's all about timing. The round of 16 is going to be played at a time when the Italian and Spanish clubs are coming out of their winter break (i.e. nicely rested), whilst all English clubs would have just gone through an exhausting festive period fixture list. So you see, having the Glazer Gimps around increases the possibility of Chelsea dealing with Lyon in the first knockout round, which would be ideal for us, everything considered.

Of course, scousers don't care about such things as they have no country protection in the competition, and could still end up being drawn against Real Madrid followed by Barcelona. How do you like that, scousers?

Oh well, I guess us Chelsea fans should keep our fingers crossed. Not being too arrogant may sway karma to smile kindly on us, and give us Lyon as our next opponents. Let us pray for that.

why waste time bothering whether Manure qualified or knocked out?

Id rather have some beer and boast how L'pool went thru the qualifying rounds in style!

Wow firstly, thanks for having so much confidence in Liverpool.

I would love that, thank you very much. What better way to prove our credentials than to beat (and since you seem to have predicted that we'll DEFINITELY beat them IF we get them) the self-dubbed GREATEST TEAM IN THE WORLD Real Madrid, and then go on to play against a great team like Barcelona?

Frankly, I am quite surprised you want to get Lyon. I expect Lyon to at least reach the semi-finals, actually.

With or without the so called country protection , just bring any teams on . EUFA trophy is always open for every team , not just Mourinho himself . It will be hard for Liverpool to retain the title as not every team can do it , so I don't worry much about being knock out .

Heh...you Liverpool idiots should just listen to yourselves speak. Pride comes before a fall....I thought you would have learnt that from looking at Manyoo.

Oh Moaner.UTD will never learn anyway .

Before the match Sir Alex said he didn't even think of the defeat to Benfica, this clearly showed no respect to the team at all. Now padan mukanya !! LoL...

Moan Utd's era is going to an end now. I would say Glazer family is the main culprit.

well, being a liverpool fan i am obviously hoping for a easy draw in the knockout stages. but come to think of it, real madrid wouldn't be such a big hoohah, any team in the final 16 can be considered doing pretty good in europe. you may just be surprised.

vincent: Even when Liverpool fall we'll still be proud to be fans. Hence, You'll never walk alone.

Now all I need to worry is that karma pendulum.

bryan : Don't be stupid. Which manager goes into a game thinking of defeat? If you think you will lose, you WILL. And Glazer just came in this season. They don't pick the team, neither do they play football on hte pitch. They aren't culprits. Don't be a wise ass.

"Country protection?"

That just means that, technically, Liverpool could be drawn against teams from the same national association - but since we can't be drawn against Chelsea (same group) nor Arsenal (group winners), so in a way, we DO have country protection. See?

So we could be drawn against Real. Chelsea could get drawn against Barca (again).

I'll take the misfiring Real over Barca anyday.

i rather hope we take barca again :) Get rid of the favourites first, bwahahha. I rather watch Chelsea-Barca anyday than Chelsea-Liverpool, where the Fools hardly ventured out of their half ... 1 shot on goal, 1 on target, 90 mins. *yawn* ... and someone said, boring Chelsea?
