MABOK BOLA IS BACK!
Look, we don't really blog much and stuff these days but we still do drink a lot.
This Boxing Day, we are going to do what we do best - watch football while drinking a lot.
Date: Boxing Day
Place : The Magnificent Fish & Chips Shop, Changkat Bukit Bintang (opposite Frangipani)
Time: 9pm till drunk
I can confirm that a bottle of Belvedere (or Glenfidich, I haven't decided yet) shall be in attendance, as well as the usual Ms Jamesons.
If you are interested, leave us a message in the comments box or drop us a line at hantubola@gmail.com.
And for the uninitiated, this is NOT a bloggers' meet okay. Cameras are strictly prohibited. Leave your SLRs or IXUS at home. Any joker turning up with a camera will turned away and be called a blogger (which is pretty insulting, really).
Considering the fact that we are in fact a bunch of lazy idiots, we would like to reiterate as usual, that we are ALWAYS looking for good contributors, who are capable of funny posts or have a natural born talent of being able to piss the shit out of other people.
If you are interested, or know somebody who is up to the task, please write to us at hantubola@gmail.com, stating your name (or pseudonym) and affiliation. We will then give you a 'writen' exam, since we need to preserve the crappiness of this website. Remember, we are looking for people who take the piss of others and annoy green fanta children. If we were looking for long insightful (and inoffensive) articles, we would be reading Soccernet or something.
Last but not least, I know how annoying this fella is to you people, and this is a fucking awesome picture, so here we go again:

WORLD CHAMPIONS!

backfire
At last night's Mabok Bola with TigerJoe and S-Kay (actually it was just me and TigerJoe doing the drinking), a couple of mabok bola regulars and a bunch of unknown people joined us midway through the game. There was a particular socialist/communist in attendance.
This aforementioned communist sat down, pointed to the guy on the screen (who had just missed the penalty) and went..

*Cue hint to shut up* But of course, I couldn't resist and asked him...
"Dude, you're a Liverpool fan aren't you?"
"NOOO!! MANCHESTER UNITED!! ROARRRRRRR!!"
"pukimak..."

Solid Defense Earns Men.United Point (and other drunken stories)
KUALA LUMPUR: Four Ghost Balls were at Magnificent Fish and Chips Bar on Sunday to watch (on a tiny TV) plucky American soccer team Men.United put up a solid defensive display, shutting out fancied English giants Reading at Old Trafford stadium today and restricting the visitors to a mere 3 shots on target while mustering an impressive 22 shots themselves.
The nil nil draw was a disaster for Reading, who were hoping to have converted at least one of their 3 chances like Sunderland did on Saturday, but unfortunately, the Men.United defence, marshalled by the awesome substitutes of John O'Shea and Darren Fletcher, were up to the task.
Men.United fan Vincent said that the referee was totally bias against Men.United, and gave the excuse that his team was playing without an out-and-out striker in the second half, while completely ignoring the fact that Reading were playing with 10 men for about 20 minutes.
Vincent was saying this in between stuffing his mouth with potted mackeral while swigging whiskey and enduring complaints of "WHY ARE THERE NO GOALS" from Tigerjoe throughout the match.
Rumours that the Men.United manager was playing for a draw and hoping to win on penalties were unfounded.
In other news, lowly Russian team Chelski also managed to sneak a 3-2 win against mighty English opposition Birmingham City, who were determined to show that they, unlike rivals Aston villa, could get some points on opening day.
Chelski prevailed thanks to a strike by Michael Assien, who took advantage of the fact that the Brum keeper was a dumbass who should have saved that shot.
Oh, and the MSSM Arsenal Team managed to win as well, no thanks to some wonderfully comical goalkeeping by Jens Lehman.
That's all for tonight. HIC!

oh, pening! weekend
***STICKY POST*** (Which basically means the latest posts are AFTER this post, you clunks)
The season proper starts rolling this weekend, and we at Hantu Bola will also be starting the season in our customary fashion.
Which means John Jameson & Son will be there. Which means table-top victory dances. Which means big screen telecasts. Which means taking the piss out of Rafa's new goatee. Which means complaining about Chelsea's new away kit. The only way I would wear that neon green shirt is if I were paid 50k a week. Heh.
The HANTU BOLA Oh, Pening! weekend Mabuk Bola Gathering
Date: Sunday, 12th August 2007
Time: 3pm(ish) until closing
Venue: The Magnificent Fish & Chips Shop (yes, that's its real name)
@ Changkat Bukit Bintang (opp. Frangipani)
Yes, we are starting the party early. Just so the kids who have a curfew can get home before their mommies and daddies send out search parties. Look out for the usual signs. If you don't know what the usual signs are, ask Eyeris or Vincent.
Soft drinks and juices are available too, just so long as you don't finish the mixers all by yourself. Anybody who wants green fanta can cross the street and buy your own from Kiosk. LOL

Reminder: Hantu Bola Gathering
Chelski vs LiverPoo
Date: Sunday, 17th September 2006
Time: 7:30pm onwards
Venue: SOULed Out, Sri Hartamas
The usual guys will be there, Mr Jameson and Ms. K included. Me, I'm hoping that my superstition that Liverpool only win big matches when I'm out of the country will hold once again this Sunday.....
***************
Another reminder:
For anyone who's not interested in Saturday's lineup of EPL matches, youse might want to check out the Malaysia Cup final at Bukit Jalil. It's Negri Sembilan vs Perlis this year.
Negri Sembilan play a bit like the West Ham of last season, relying on team spirit and cohesiveness to win matches. Perlis, like Liverpool, rely on some cipet feller to win cup finals for them. Really, his name is actually Chipet(a).

HANTU BOLA World Cup Gathering: Germany vs Argentina!
By the power vested in me (which is pathetically little), I hereby announce that the NEXT Hantu Bola World Cup gathering will be for... jeng jeng jeng...
GERMANY vs ARGENTINA
Date: Friday, 30th June
Venue: Chakri Palace, Mont Kiara Plaza - confirmed
Time: 10.30 pm - confirmed
From experience, SO only accepts reservations up til 7:30pm only, so we'll need to see how many people can turn up, and then only reserve the table.
So, I need you guys to COMMENT and CONFIRM who is coming this FRIDAY... NOW, so that we can book the tables. so... comment comment comment fast fast fast...
As for how you're gonna recognise us, lets just say it's pretty hard to miss us, ok? :P
PS: We'll gauge the response on the day, and see whether we wanna do it again for the England Portugal match ok?
-------------------------------------------
Update (2:53pm):
Apparently, Souled Out is, as expected, sold out.. er.. I mean, full for Friday night. some nut went and booked the whole damn place for a private function. damn selfish i tell you, no consideration for Hantu Bolas at all.
Anyway, we're planning to move OUR party back to Chakri Palace at MONT KIARA PLAZA (which is the easiest place to get reservations, plus we're too damn lazy to think of anywhere else), and will probably move back the time to 10pm onwards....
Damn, no Jameson again. sigh...
-------------------------------------------
Update (5:55pm):
We have a table in front of the big screen at Chakri Palace in Mont Kiara Plaza, the booking is for 10:30 pm, so everyone has plenty of time to move their behinds and come on over.
First-timers to HantuBola gatherings should look for the tell-tale signs when trying to locate the table; e.g. bottle of whiskey in the centre of table, a super-thin scouser, a bespectacled Manure glory hunter, a botak feller who's pretending to be sober, etc.

The Chakri Experience
OK, OK, I gotta post because Grand Master Eyeris has pulled the whip on me and threathened to have me replaced if I don't post anymore. Apparently not posting will earn you the boot (especially since he's only allowed to have two female Liverpool supporters ... and he's got someone else on his mind).
BAH. Men are SO fickle.
I din blog cause I was SICK ok.
but anyway, after many, many days of recovering from a serious throat infection, I was finallyno longer infectious healthy enough to go out into the general public. I was excited to get sms-es from the boys regarding the Hantu Bola meet.
YAY!
When I first got there, sic6sense was very vocal about being anti-camera.
sic6sense: YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO TAKE PICTURES!! NO CAMERAS!
Wei. During the last meet, I only posted ONE pic of you and you weren't recognisable behind the Liverpool scarf you were hiding behind la.
Sporting a bit la ....
Anyway, I was rushing when I was leaving the house so forgot my camera.
The so-called Games of Death didn't really manage to get my blood boiling. We were late so by the time we got to Chakri at approx. 10.30pm, the Argentina-Serbia & Montenegro game was well into play and the score was 3-0 in Argentina's favour. It was pretty trilling to watch the subsequent goals but since it was only Argentina widening its lead, which morphed into a massacre, bo syiok la.
While waiting for the Nederlands-Ivory Coast game to start, we started to heckle Vince who was leaving for Gehbeng the next day. Eyeris was trying to get me drunk by making me very stiff drinks. Vince and I are technically off our antibiotics but should not be drinking since we were not yet fully recovered.
Yeah. So much for that.
I was rather high during the 2nd game (thanks to Eyeris!). Not that many goals ... but the Ivory Coast goal, IMHO, was rather cool. It was amusing to watch all the fake dives ... replays in slow mo were pretty hilarious. There's probably a lot of stuff from the game that's going to make it to YouTube which are probably good watches but since my Streamyx is still down and I am on dial-up, I'm not going to be the one who post em here k?

Impromptu Hantu Bola World Cup meet: SPAIN vs UKRAINE tonight!
Yup, it's the first of hopefully many more impromptu and last minute Hantu Bola gatherings for the World Cup.
This first one, we're gonna be meeting at SOULED OUT Sri Hartamas for the Spain and Ukraine match. We'll be meeting there at 8:30pm. just look out for a skinny dude with an orange VALENCIA jersey, and a big size dude who looks like an obnoxious Man Utd fan.

My First Hantu Bola SOULed Out Experience
Last Saturday was my first official outing with the Hantu Bola-ers. I was actually quite nervous to attend. I mean .. Liverpool is playing .. and I am not known for being all objective about Liverpool.
Then again, it's not that there's anything that I need to be objective about, is there? I mean, we're like the absolute best right? Heh!
Ok. I will quit with the taunting and the like, we already have Vincent & Some Emo-Commenters who's got that angle covered. I'm just here to post pics.
SO... on with the night. In attendance at SOULed Out were:

Check out the jersey! Damn support woi!

Whole night running away from camera
... and then there was also me la. I was BEHIND the camera. Oh yeah, a bit difficult to take pictures since everyone keeps semi-anonymous blogs. So have to edit out their faces. Want to see how they look like? Come to future Hantu Bola meets lor.
Representing Chelsea was their one-man-strong representative at Hantu Bola .. none other then MR TIGERJOE himself.

Also pakai jersey. Very the power wan.
Not to be confused with princesses he meets gallivanting :P
TigerJoe also brought along a princess for support. Unfortunately, she supports Arsenal.

Naz upset cause the gooners drew with Totenham

Looks nothing like Kelvin from Kelvin and Hobbes
It was a fun night. A lot of banter and good-hearted taunting. A lot of cheers. A lot of laughter. A lot of booze. Hehe. I have a video of Tiger's victory dance ... which will be posted once I have the time to edit it. Hehehehehehe.....
Of course la it was a good night! Toodles!

HantuBola Gathering
Are you hoping that the Mancs chase down Chelsea for the title? Are you keen to see Arsenal pip Shebby's favourite team to fourth place in the Premiership? Do you want to see a drunk bald guy try to charm the pants off a waitress (before being told to fook off)?
Then come on over to the HantuBola gathering this weekend!
Date: Sunday, 9th Apr 2006
Venue: Souled Out @ Sri Hartamas, KL
Kick-Off: 11.00 pm
Scousers may want to show up a little bit earlier and watch your team lose at home to the Bolton Veterans. I know I'm going to be there to laugh at the Mancs and Gooners as they kick the green goo out of each other before drawing 1-1.

UPDATE: Due to the coolness of Souled Out management, a bottle of absolut will be attending the gathering. I'm under the impression that a bottle of whisky will also magically appear at the table, if the genie indeed shows up with his bottle. Coke on the rocks is apparently available too.

A reminder - HANTU BOLA outing
This has been mentioned once before, but a recent development has caused a slight change in plans for the outing to watch ManYoo vs Liverpool.
Date: Sunday, 22nd Jan 2006
Venue: Souled Out in Sri Hartamas
Time: 7pm onwards [not 11pm as mentioned before]
The start time has been changed as Souled Out only accepts table reservations for up to 7pm. A table reservation is going to be especially essential for this Sunday, because ESPN will be doing a live telecast from Souled Out. How do you like that?
Hantu Bola, where are you?
Let's be having you!
Everyone is cordially invited, let me know if you are coming since you will need the booking name when the Souled Out staff ask for your reservation on that day. Tables are going to be limited so we can't really paste that preciousss booking name on this blog.

HantuBola Outing - MAN vs LIV
Here we go, here we go, here we go...

It's the Mancs against The Scouse Louse!!!
Date: Sunday, 22nd Jan 2006
Venue: Souled Out in Sri Hartamas
Time: 11pm onwards
Kick-off is at midnight, and some may hesitate at that, but what is a Monday hangover to a real footy fan, right? Come one, come all - bring your friends, darlings and hamster if you must. First three jugs are on me; but don't cry if you are late and Eyeris or Vincent has already polished off the third jug. I will probably be at Souled Out much earlier than 11pm though, as I'll be watching Chelsea take full points against Charlton. *fingers crossed*
There are plenty of scouse fans following this blog, but I'm not sure about ManYoo fans. Anyways, I'll be wearing a red top and helping Vincent deal with the Liverpool fans. After all, seeing the scousers drop points at Old Trafford fits in nicely with the Chelsea agenda. *ppphhhbbbbttttt*
See you all there.

p.s. If we can't get a decent crowd going, the venue might be changed to my place instead. That will depend on what people think though, as I know not many are keen on driving into downtown KL. Look on the bright side though, if we have to move the venue to my place, there's a bottle of single malt calling out to you.
